Franklin NC
The last couple of years we have stayed at "The Great Outdoors" RV park. This year we are planning to stay at Cullasaja River RV park about 6 miles up the Higlands (sr 64) road from the downtown Franklin area. It looks like a nice park from what I can tell from the pictures on their website and the price is certainly MUCH better than The Great Outdoors and I'd appreciate any comments about this park.

Time to De-winterize
The weather is not cooperating and it is getting close for the spring ritual of de-winterizing the TT. The school system our kids attend scheduled an early spring break this year, 9th - 13th of March which means we are less than 3 weeks away from pulling it down to Florida. Yikes!!!
I'm watching the weather forcast and it looks like the first week in March will be a mad rush to pull it together. Still, it seems too early for all this!

Thinking about the first trip of the year
Here we are into Febuary already and its little over 5 weeks from our first trip of the year. We'll be going to TopSail Hill SP in Destin FL for spring break. As usual there are lists to create, and de-winterizing the TT. I have a tolerable Picasa album of TopSail if anybody cares to visit just click on the link over on the right side of this blog.

Trailer is back and I'm very happy with the work done from the Camping Center, Clarksville TN. Reasonably priced too I might add.
So I went to air out the canopy after I got it home and had trouble with the slide supports once I released the lock. The more I tried to pull it down the stucker it seemed to get. Finally one side worked loose and started to move away from the wall of the camper. This only made the other side worse and really twisted in the C channel. I fussed with it for 15 or 20 minutes and finally got it to pop back into the channel an was able to lower the canopy. I got soaked in the process but didn't mess anything up either so I guess it all turned out okay. Though I am concerned about the canopy release once we hit the road this year.
Any comments?

TT ready to come home!
Our TT needed a few repairs last fall so after I winterized it I took it for some much needed work. We had a nasty blowout last October and it ripped up the wheel well, tore a hole in the floor, mangled an outrigger from the I beam and knocked the slide-out out of balance. One blow out...yea it can be that bad.
So, off it went and 10 weeks later its finally repaired. Seems the good folks at Forest River took their sweet time sending a replacement outrigger and when they finally sent it they sent it to the wrong shop. Repeat long wait procedure from Forest River and now it is finally ready to be picked up. The tech was joking with me on the phone and said he wouldn't even charge me for storage!
I'm glad all the work is done and once this bitter cold weather passes I'll go pick it up. Just 8 more weeks before we take it to Florida for Spring Break. (Top Sail Hill SP, Destin FL Pictured)
